Finomenal 2017

Finomenal-2017 had a ‘phenomenal’ start on 28th October 2017.  The annual Finance conclave of T. A. Pai Manipal Institute, Manipal was hosted at the campus on 28th and 29th of October 2017.

The conclave was based on the theme “Govern|Strengthen|Transform”

Finomenal has historically helped the students majoring in finance, of both first and second year, to converse with the Industry heads. The event  created a conducive environment to help in exchange of innovative thoughts and result in knowledge transfer. This year, it also served as a platform for our students to interact with the crème de la crème of various institutes who participated in the competitions held as a part of the event. Over 12 institutes sent its best brains to TAPMI (notable ones being IIM Calcutta) to take part in these events.

To stay afloat in this fast growing dynamic world, every company has to evolve and keep eliminating their competitors while expanding their businesses. And so accrescendi (the latin for accretion) is a necessity for any company aspiring to become the market leader. Keeping this in mind, the event “Accretion” was held as a part of Finomenal to test the student’s ability to conjure strategies to take over a company through M&A.

But of all the events, the most celebrated and popular event is the Bloomberg Olympiad. TAPMI has Asia’s largest Bloomberg lab and conducts this event every year as a part of Finomenal wherein our Bloomberg Champions are pitted against the Bloomberg champions of other colleges. We are proud to announce that TAPMI was able to retain its title by winning the Championship.

The conclave was based on the theme “Govern|Strengthen|Transform”. And true to this theme, the event was well organized and did lead to a transformational experience for the students who attended the events by strengthening their confidence to enter the corporate world to take forward the legacy of great business leaders like Steve Jobs and Elon Musk.
