Wondering who the richest person in the world is? The Bloomberg Billionaires Index function – RICH <GO> – redefines the concept of a “rich list” by leveraging Bloomberg Professional service data to monitor the world’s highest net-worth individuals and how their fortunes change on a daily basis as markets fluctuate.
- Type RICH <GO> into the command line.
- The default table view displays a dynamic list of the world’s highest net-worth individuals, along with relevant statistics and current news headlines.
- You can narrow the list of billionaires by selected regions, industries, and personal characteristics through the category selections on the right.
For example, if you wanted to see the richest woman in the Consumer sector, tick the “Female” box under “Gender” and the “Consumer” box under “Industry” and click “504) Results”. The results displayed show Alice Walton, Francoise Bettencourt Meyers and Jacqueline Badger Mars as the top three females in the Consumer industry. You can then click on any Billionaire listed to see their Bloomberg Billionaire (BBIO) biography screen, where you can further examine their fortune.
