In the past few months, we have witnessed some historical events, which have the potential to transform economies around the world.
From a global perspective, we saw Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates becoming the first countries of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to introduce Value Added Tax (VAT). Economies around the world continue to explore new ways to extract oil hence making the oil and gas sector unsettled and oil prices volatile. Venezuela became first sovereign country to officially launch its own cryptocurrency called Petro backed by oil, gas, gold and diamond reserves to overcome the US-led financial sanctions.
